Take the opportunity today to network.
You might be good at this already – I’m not. Not naturally anyway. I always feel like I’m forcing small talk or I feel like I’m selling myself – YUK!
However, I’ve started to look at it in a different light recently. If I walk into a room at a networking evening or a party or a conference or a business meeting I focus on trying to help someone. That might be directly or indirectly. If indirectly, then it usually means I know someone that could help them. I then put those people in touch and hey presto – I’ve just networked.
So, if like me, you don’t naturally enjoy networking try thinking of it as an opportunity for you to just help and serve someone. We all like helping someone out don’t we?
